Help Safeguard the Future of an Ambitious Autism Charity

Are you motivated by purpose and impact? Do you want to use your skills to help a values-driven charity grow sustainably and responsibly? Remarkable Group is seeking an Independent Chair of the Audit & Risk Management Committee to play a vital role in shaping our future.

About Remarkable Group

We are proud to deliver high-quality, innovative services that enable autistic young people and adults to live happy, fulfilled lives. Our work supports autistic individuals throughout their lives, and we continually redefine what’s possible through creative, person-centred and transformative services.

With an ambitious five-year growth plan, this is an exciting time to join Remarkable and contribute to a charity that is expanding its reach, strengthening its impact, and investing in long-term sustainability.

The Role

The Audit & Risk Management Committee is central to the organisation’s success. It provides robust oversight, challenge, and assurance across financial governance, internal controls, risk management, compliance, and reporting.

As Independent Chair, you will:

  • Provide confident, strategic leadership to the Audit & Risk Management Committee
  • Strengthen risk management, internal control, and financial transparency across the organisation
  • Support regulatory compliance and best-practice governance
  • Work closely with Trustees, Governors, and the Senior Leadership Team
  • Bring an independent, objective perspective that supports sound decision-making
  • Help safeguard the charity’s assets, reputation, and mission

This role plays a key part in ensuring Remarkable remains resilient, accountable, and well-governed as we continue to grow.

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking an individual who brings integrity, curiosity, and sound judgement, alongside:

  • A strong commitment to improving outcomes for autistic young people
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the confidence to provide constructive challenge
  • A keen eye for detail and a willingness to deep-dive when needed
  • An interest in learning and developing within a complex, mission-led organisation

Previous experience in audit, risk, finance, governance, or regulated environments is beneficial, but what matters most is alignment with our values and a commitment to high-quality oversight.
